Padmapani Avalokitesvara

蓮花手菩薩像

此菩薩像頂戴化佛，袒上身，左肩搭獸皮，斜披聖帶，繫腰布，右手支頤作思惟相，左手在膝上持長莖的開敷蓮花。蓮花為慈悲之象徵，體現了觀音菩薩救濟眾生的造像特色。盤右腿，舒左腿而坐，目光低垂，沉浸在冥思之中，整體予人自在恬靜感。
菩薩思惟的坐姿，可能直接承襲了犍陀羅和秣菟羅（Mathura）美術的造像傳統，刻工細緻，甚為罕見難得，屬六世紀北印度地區笈多王朝（約320〜550）與八世紀護瑟迦羅（Hushkapura）的過渡風格。
