Sanchi Stupa 2: Pillar Relief

桑奇二號塔法輪柱浮雕

位於北面入口東隅柱西面。圖上方為十六輪輻的法輪，外襯花環。法輪下雕立柱，柱頭造型與阿育王柱四獅柱頭相仿，唯此浮雕特別之處，在於其柱頭正面雕一大象，左右側配置背向對稱的獅子。目前已發現的阿育王柱當中，未見不同動物盤踞同一柱頭的例子。柱座呈覆蓮狀，兩側懸垂花環及蓮花花苞。柱身呈八角形，亦不似阿育王柱柱身一貫的圓滑。
立柱下雕一列欄楯，造型與桑奇二號塔欄楯相似。欄楯下刻有背向對稱的牡牛及蓮花裝飾。
