桑奇二號塔孔雀浮雕

位於欄楯立柱，為圓形浮雕裝飾。一隻開屏的雄孔雀幾乎填滿整個畫面，昂首展翅，神氣十足。從羽冠、鳥喙、雙翅的羽毛、足爪，到盛開的花翎，皆刻劃清晰。其左右兩側各有一隻雌孔雀，畫面空隙處綴花朵。
孔雀為古代印度常見的野禽，且相傳喜食毒蛇，故被視為守護神，受人崇敬，並成為婆羅門教戰神的坐騎及佛教的護法。孔雀圖像為印度本土傳統裝飾藝術，桑奇、巴爾胡特佛塔上的圓形浮雕裝飾亦以此為主要題材。
