Head of a Crowned Buddha

泰國大城時期（Ayutthaya，1350～1767）的造像藝術於十六世紀開始孕育成熟，並發展出佩戴裝飾的佛像，反映出一個富庶王朝帝王的審美觀，此像為範例之一。
佛戴泰式王冠，紋飾繁複精緻，原應鑲嵌飾物，現已佚失。王冠下緣髮際處繫有細窄的頭帶，耳垂亦掛有飾物。鼻梁呈一直線，與兩道細長的新月眉相連。眼窩深陷，雙目微啟。嘴闊，雙頰飽滿，眉、眼及唇均以細線勾畫，顯得剛毅超脫。
此時期的佛像創作已不再依循素可泰時期（1238～1438）藝術柔美線條的原則，而變得較為勁挺，著重於精雕細琢裝飾細節，趨向表現華貴富麗的形象。
