Tile with the Lotus Sutra

日本十二世紀作品。泥製，素燒，高22.9公分，寬18.9公分，厚1.8公分。瓦經係於方形瓦板兩面陰刻經文燒製而成，為祈求祖先及有緣眾生之冥福，或為求解脫而刻製。平安時代（794～1185）末期盛行埋藏瓦經，故又稱瓦經塚。
圖中瓦經天地及行間劃以格線，每面十行，每行十七字，正反面均刻寫《妙法蓮華經》卷六〈隨喜功德品〉之經文。背面天格刻有「十六」之編碼，得知此片瓦經為該卷之第十六塊。瓦經出土地不詳，但其特徵與福岡市飯盛山出土平安永久二年（1114）紀年的瓦經一致，刻字也相似，故被視為其中一部分。
