桑奇一號塔佛傳圖之降魔成道

位於北門第二道橫梁背面。表現降魔成道的佛傳故事場面。當時即將悟道的悉達多太子在菩提樹下靜坐冥想，魔王波旬百般阻撓與誘惑，反遭太子降伏。
畫面分成左右兩段。右側末端菩提樹下的空台座代表太子，周圍有諸天和眾神守護，人物形象優雅。左側可見魔王波旬坐在寶座上，身旁的魔子魔孫張牙舞爪，形態矮胖醜陋，加強了正邪兩方的戲劇性對比。魔眾臉部有正面、側面、三分之二面，特別誇張了頭部的比例和臉部的表情，構成一種騷亂的氛圍。
