浮雕佛傳故事題材之一，在犍陀羅甚為多見。據《佛本行集經》卷七〈樹下誕生品〉，迦毗羅衛國淨飯王娶拘利國天臂城主之女摩耶為妻，摩耶夫人返鄉待產路經藍毗尼園休息，於無憂樹下，自右脇產下悉達多太子。
圖中摩耶夫人右手舉起攀握樹枝，一嬰孩從其右腋誕生，此即為悉達多太子。太子造像雖已損壞，但其身形及頭光仍清晰可辨。戴敷巾冠飾的帝釋天「將天細妙憍尸迦衣，裹於自手，於先承接，擎菩薩身」，身後站立二位合十讚歎的天人。圖右側二位宮女隨侍摩耶夫人，其中一位手提水壺。人物鋪排及構圖，為典型犍陀羅風格。
