Daianji Temple: Amoghapasa Avalokitesvara

不空●（上四+下絹）索觀音菩薩像

約雕造於八世紀末，二目八臂，額上無第三隻眼，亦無披鹿皮之痕跡，異於一般日本不空●（Q）索觀音造像。一九○二年指定為日本重要文化財。
觀音從頭部至台座軸心由檜木整材雕出，頭梳高髻，面相橢圓，五官大，彎眉如柳，嘴角微抿。寬胸，體軀深厚，表現其量感，略顯平板，缺乏起伏之韻味。
整體比例手臂較小，八臂中除右側最下方的胳臂製作年代較早外，其他皆為後來補上。部分塗以木屑漆，以表現身軀、衣紋的柔軟質感，與乾漆造像有共通之處。
目前造像外表大部分幾乎已露出木皮，但下裳、帔帛仍殘存花草與團花紋等彩色紋樣痕跡，如碎金的小花、銀泥描繪的莖葉等，可知曾施以華麗的色彩。
