金閣寺千手觀音菩薩像

位於山西省忻州市五台縣五台山台懷鎮金閣寺大悲殿，像高17.7公尺，是五台山最大的造像。千手觀音之持物均各有其含義，據唐（618～907）伽梵達摩譯《千手千眼觀世音菩薩廣大圓滿無礙大悲心陀羅尼經》：「若為摧伏一切怨敵者，當於金剛杵手。若為一切處怖畏不安者，當於施無畏手。若為眼闇無光明者，當於日精摩尼手。」
大悲殿高二層，為供奉高大觀音像，內部上下二層貫通。此像為銅鑄，清代（1644～1911）施以薄泥貼金。菩薩為立姿，頭戴高寶冠，凝眸下視，瓔珞嚴身，帔帛搭肩繞臂飄垂而下。觀音四十二臂，正面雙手合十，左右各二十臂，屈肘分持金剛杵、寶印、鈴等法器。此巨大銅鑄菩薩，堪稱是中國塑造及鑄造藝術結合的經典之作。
