此圖據《大方廣佛華嚴經》卷六十八〈入法界品〉記述，描繪善財童子歷參善知識，至補陀洛迦山參謁觀音菩薩的場面。繪製於十三至十四世紀。現為日本重要文化財。
觀音身著白衣，側身結跏趺坐於山麓岩石上，身後有大圓光，旁置水瓶，神情靜謐。圖左下角為善財童子，隔水仰視觀音，合掌作禮。作品以竹林、飛瀑為背景，前方有池沼流泉，表現山水景致。筆觸綿密，富於神韻，運用嫻熟的水墨技法，表現幽深的空間，為日本早期水墨畫之一例。圖中七言絕句為禪僧約翁德儉之題贊。
