生卒年不詳。韓國朝鮮時期（1392～1910）佛畫僧。肅宗四十五年（1719）開始以慶尚南道雲興寺為中心，用金魚之名開始作畫活動；其後廣及全羅道的松廣寺、仙巖寺、興國寺、實相寺、泉隱寺等，更活躍於忠清道和慶尚道等地，經歷肅宗（1675～1720在位）及英祖（1725～1776在位）二代。因此義謙派畫師在韓國佛教繪畫史上占有一席之地。
作品有雲興寺靈山會幀及水月觀音圖、興國寺盧舍那佛掛佛幀與觀音菩薩幀、實相寺阿彌陀極樂會幀、青谷寺靈山會幀、海印寺靈山會幀、十六羅漢圖、多寶寺釋迦佛會幀等，主題多元化。
