此圖依據中國宋代（960～1279）大智律師元照的《觀無量壽經義疏》繪製。
畫面上部為主尊釋迦牟尼佛，兩側列有十大弟子、十六聖眾、六大天王及諸菩薩。其上以彩雲和寶樹隔開的圓相為第一日想觀。圖兩側各配置六個圓相，右側從上而下，分別為第二觀至第七觀，左側是第八觀至第十三觀。主尊下方的三重寶閣，依序為第十四觀至第十六觀，描繪上、中、下三品的三輩觀。圖最下方為蓮池，繪有蓮花化生的景象。十六觀周側以紅底金泥書寫說明文字，以助了解內容。
整幅畫面構圖周密細緻，左右對稱，井然有序，繪製精細。色彩以紅色為主，配以綠色和青色，適當的使用金色，使畫面更添明亮、華美。線條精細，為知名佛畫，推測約繪製於高麗忠烈王二十六年（1300）。
