Horyuji Temple: Altar

木漆螺鈿桌

日本

日本十二世紀佛教供具。曾為奈良法隆寺聖靈院放置香爐、花瓶及燈燭等物之佛桌。一九五九年指定為日本國寶。
 木質,桌面為長方形,通體髹黑漆。立面以棖為間隔,四面均作鏤空壼門,下接拱肩三彎式四足,足部外撇並內收,曲線優美,又稱鷺腳桌。桌面四角與棖上下側沿,皆鑲嵌金銅鏨刻魚子紋地寶相花卷草紋;面側沿、腿外側等均鑲嵌螺鈿寶相花卷草及蝴蝶紋樣,為平安時代(794~1185)後期典型的案几。
 日本在八世紀前承襲中國唐代(618~907)卷草團花紋樣及螺鈿技法,平安時代以後,隨著遣唐使被廢止,逐漸發展出日本獨特的風格,平安後期全面傾向和風化。
