Master Saicho’s Visa to Tang Dynasty China

傳教大師入唐牒

此為日本傳教大師最澄上人入唐旅程的相關文件，主要分為兩部分，其一為中國明州（今寧波）官方發與的通行文件，另一則為台州（今浙江臨海）官方發與的通行文件。就中載明傳教大師入唐時的隨伴人員與所攜經典，可說是研究傳教大師到中國的重要文獻。一九五四年指定為日本國寶。
從性質來說，這兩件皆是官方文書，可說文獻價值重於書法藝術價值。然而，其台州文書中端楷而細瘦的書寫，可說是官方文書以「細體」書寫的例證；至於明州文書中寬綽又溫厚的書寫，則表現了當時書法在唐楷籠罩下的普遍水準，皆可與書法史相接。
台州文書末有刺史陸淳親筆簽批「任為公驗三月一日台州刺史陸淳印」，陸氏以春秋學者留名於世，其真跡經由此文件保存至今，頗為難得。
