唐招提寺鑑真和上像

位於御影堂佛龕內，是日本現存夾紵肖像年代最早的名品，被評價為夾紵肖像中最高傑作之一，僅每年六月五日至七日開放供眾參拜。據《唐大和上東征傳》記載，奈良天平寶字七年（763），弟子忍基夢見講堂棟梁摧折，預感師將入寂，故仿和尚的真容造像。一九五一年指定為日本國寶。
此像為等身坐像，採夾紵脫胎技法，內部輕薄，無支撐木架。著朱彩僧衣，外披赭色袈裟，雙手疊放於腹前，結禪定印，結跏趺坐於台座上。面相方圓，雙目閉合，鼻挺，薄唇，表情寧靜祥和；眉骨隆起，顴骨高寬，骨相硬朗，顯現其堅韌的意志。
肌膚作肉色，眼、睫、衣紋以墨線勾勒，唇部繪以朱色，眉、口周圍則以墨、白色描繪，並施綠青、朱等顏色。技法洗練，線條流暢勁利，寫實逼真，推測出自官營工房的藝匠之手。
