佛作高肉髻，漩渦紋清晰流暢，臉形豐滿，眉目纖細秀美，鼻挺唇薄，大耳長垂，表情祥和。體態魁偉，著圓領通肩袈裟，柔薄貼體，褶紋垂承的弧線狀極為流暢勻稱，受到印度笈多王朝（約320～550）秣菟羅（Mathura）藝術風格的影響。雙手外展，立於覆蓮台上。
由發願文「太和元年（477）正月廿四日……上為……下為邊地眾生造彌勒像一軀」，得知為彌勒佛像。整體製作精美，體型高大，造像形制與北魏太平真君四年（443）的菀申造佛立像極似，為早期金銅佛像的典範之作。
