緬甸若開邦莎拉吉里出土
一九八六年緬甸若開邦莎拉吉里（Salagiri, Rakhine）出土，該處位於距摩訶牟尼寺（Maha Muni Shrine）以西約8公里處的丘陵。該作原為嵌板佛傳圖中的一塊，被認為是寺院內之裝飾物。採縱向構圖，從左上方斜下，將畫面分成二分，上方佛陀安臥於寢台上屈右臂為枕，左手伸直平放於身側，雙足累疊，臉上浮現祥和的微笑，背後三棵樹，象徵娑羅樹林。下方三位弟子，或坐、或跪於地上，抱膝、搥胸、或伸出雙手，皆面露哀戚，神情苦澀，與佛陀的安詳神情，形成鮮明的對比。圖像雖然簡略，但將佛臨入涅槃的景象，表露無遺。
