Xi’an: Buddha Pentad Niche

一九七五年陝西省西安市出土。呈方形佛龕樣式。佛面相飽滿，神情端莊，頭光呈三層同心圓，內飾蓮瓣紋。褒衣博帶式袈裟衣紋簡潔疏朗，表現出流暢的質感。雙手施無畏印及與願印，結跏趺坐於須彌座上。其兩側前後各有一菩薩及天王，菩薩手持蓮苞，天王作弓步，身姿扭轉向外，頭部向後迴轉，姿態生動。佛座前有博山形香爐，兩側為護法獅，舉爪昂首，栩栩如生。龕楣淺刻伎樂飛天，構圖細膩，楣下垂飾帷幕。
整體刀工精練，人物靜動相間，富有生氣，是北周時期（557～581）的造像佳作。
