Sarnath: Buddha and Attendants

一佛二菩薩像
印度北方邦鹿野苑遺址出土
印度北方邦瓦拉那西（Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh）鹿野苑（Sarnath）出土，帶一五七年（約476）銘記，為少數笈多王朝（約320〜550）有確切紀年的佛教造像，彌足珍貴。
鹿野苑約於四、五世紀初，已出現鉢狀蓮台，此像之蓮台呈鉢形，造型特殊，即為其中一例。蓮莖左右延伸對稱的小蓮台，上各立一身脇侍菩薩，呈一莖三尊造像結構。蓮莖下接寶瓶，富設計性。佛身後圓弧形的舉身光上方有二飛天，其中右側已失。台座兩側各有一蹲跪合掌的供養人。
佛著通肩式袈裟，右臂與左前臂殘損，全身僅在頸部及袈裟邊緣處刻劃少量的細線。佛像左腿略彎，下身微向右傾，稍具動態。
