Todaiji Temple: Reliquary

日本十七世紀佛教供物。銅鑄鎏金，由舍利具與底座二部分組成。舍利具作扁平圓形，環帶內刻飾細紋，正反面設水晶窗，內分三層，每層均供奉舍利，外緣作火焰紋。底座作多層圓形，立面陽刻七寶繫紋、輪寶、卷草及梅花等紋樣；束腰，上接八葉仰蓮瓣，蓮瓣中心托起多重仰蓮座，上承舍利具，做工精細。底附雲紋短足。
據《七大寺巡禮私記》記載，婆羅門僧正菩提僊那請來二千粒五色舍利，敬獻天皇，天皇將其分諸寺院供奉，推測奈良東大寺將舍利安奉於此器中。
