Toji Temple Golden Hall: Hand Drum

法會樂器之一，推測係京都教王護國寺過去舉辦舍利法會時，為莊嚴金堂，於金堂南面架設舞台，集合樂人演奏樂曲、歌舞之用。鼓木質，長柄，柄身一端接二小鼓，貫穿鼓腔。鼓面蒙皮，黝黑，周緣箍以金屬，並嵌裝豎條一圈。當轉動執柄時，使其回轉作響，未設鼓槌，造型獨特。柄身鑲嵌螺鈿飛雲和鳥紋樣。據此物的紋樣色彩、螺鈿裝飾技法及樣式，推測係鎌倉時代（1185～1333）前期之作。
