生卒年不詳。南宋（1127～1279）臨濟宗楊岐派禪僧。承無準師範法嗣，住於潭州（今湖南）石霜山。書法用筆粗細轉折自然成趣，極富變化，展現禪僧風雅的藝術格調。其傳世作品《七言詩》，恭錄古德詩作，筆意雅致從容，極具藝術價值，書風獨具一格，現藏日本神奈川常盤山文庫。
