廣東番禺 僧人 書法
俗姓曾，名起莘，字麗中。法名函●（昰），號天然。生於一六○八年，卒於一六八五年。明（1368～1644）末清（1644～1911）初僧、書法家。廣東番禺（今廣州）人。明崇禎六年（1633）中舉人，曾隨道獨和尚修道，後於廣東番禺及丹霞山等地，創立海雲寺、海幢寺、別傳寺等名剎，被譽為南粵法門砥柱。
能詩文，兼擅書法，每當抗清志士死難，即寫詩哀悼，其高風亮節及愛國情操，為時人所敬重，著有《天然和尚詩集》。作品反映明末遺民的宗風，對澳門佛教界產生重大影響。傳世書跡《和梅影詩》，藏臺灣臺北何創時書法藝術基金會。
