江蘇武進 書法家 政治家
字聞斯，號淇澳，玄宴子。生於一五六五年，卒於一六三六年。明代（1368～1644）書法家、政治家。武進（今江蘇常州）人。明代文學家唐順之的外孫。自幼受外祖父影響，博學強記，能詩善文，其品行高潔，為當時儒者之冠。萬曆二十三年（1595年）中舉進士，官至禮部右侍郎、禮部尚書，家居時講學東林書院。著有《中庸慎獨義》、《史左編》、《玄宴齋集》等。
工書法，師法黃庭堅、李邕，書風亦受顏真卿、柳公權影響；行草率意，筆力遒勁，且不拘成法，風格沉著。傳世作品《佛偈語》八屏條，為晚年力作，藏江蘇常州博物館。
