Gongxian Cave 1: Ceiling (northeast corner)

鞏縣石窟第1窟平棊
河南鞏義
位於窟頂。該窟窟頂雕大小相等的方形棋格，其中靠近中心柱的一周棋格內每格浮雕一飛天，其外一周表現蓮花及化生，最外一周雕刻兩種不同類型的蓮花，相鄰兩種互不重複。棋格桁條上飾卷草及蓮花圖案。
該窟平棊雖微有殘損，但基本保存完整，平棊上原來還賦有色彩，現在仍然隱約可見。第3、4窟窟頂也有類似的平棊圖案，但以該窟設計最為複雜、完備。
