原石存陝西省西安碑林博物館。圖中達摩托鉢禪坐，鬚眉長髮用細筆，線條勁利；衣著用簡筆，概括洗練。圖左上方刻有風顛題贊文句，字體秀勁清麗。
達摩為中國佛教禪宗初祖。南朝梁（502～557），一說南朝宋（420～479）時渡海至廣州，梁武帝（502～549在位）遣使迎至建業（今南京），然與武帝話不投契，遂渡江至河南省嵩山少林寺，面壁九年，後將衣鉢傳給慧可。
