This temple was constructed by the local Thai Buddhist community. It was established in 1982 in Missouri City, Texas, and was relocated to Houston in 1983.
The temple consists of a single-story main hall built in traditional Thai architectural style. The two-layer roof is covered with red tiles. The edges of the eaves are decorated with stylized nagas and garudas at the ends. An ornately decorated pediment faces the front above the three-bay wide portico consisting of whitewashed columns with capitals embellished with gold. The hall houses a golden seated statue of Sakyamuni Buddha with a canopy above. In front of the main hall there is a gilded statue of the walking Buddha.
