Reliquary Stupa

SRI LANKA

Since they were cast separately, the body of this reliquary stupa can be detached from its base. The base consists of four tiers with lotus petal designs, and the upper and lower rims of the bell-shape body are also decorated with lotus petal motifs. The body is surmounted by a Sumeru-shaped harmika with a small canopy above. The spire consists of stacked rings, followed by a canopy and a jeweled finial.
