Dharma Wheel

CHINA, Tibet

This Dharma wheel was made in Tibet during the 18th century. Its 12 spokes, which are encircled by a rim, are gilt silver with a green gem at the center. Surrounding the wheel is a silver lotus petal with scroll leaf and cloud patterning. The silver base is round and is divided into three layers; the second layer is in the form of an inverted lotus. Supporting the main form is a gilt silver lotus bud with a scroll pattern on both sides.
