Bronze
This rectangular bronze mirror has an image of the Three-Eyed, Eighteen-Armed Cundi Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva sitting in full lotus position on a lotus throne emerging from water. Each lotus petal features a figure in a different posture. Two Heavenly Kings support the lotus throne and there is a Bodhisattva on each side. Circles surround the top of the mandorla and contain a Buddha or Bodhisattva together with their names.
On the back of the mirror is Avalokitesvara in a white robe holding flowers. The Bodhisattva stands in the tribhanga posture and wears a headdress with the image of Amitabha Buddha. On either side is Sudhana with palms joined and Skanda with hands cupped together. The Heart Sutra is inscribed on both sides at the top of the engraving.
