Bowl

CHINA; Western Jin dynasty

This bowl was created during the Western Jin dynasty. Measuring 9 cm high, 20.7 cm in diameter at the rim, and 15.7 cm in diameter at the base, this bowl is supported on three short legs. Imprints of two beaded bands edge the raised diamond shapes on the body. Six molded Buddha figures are adhered to the diamond pattern, each with a usnisa and a nimbus, and wearing a robe that covers both shoulders.
