This statuette of Bodhidharma is 19.8 cm high and carved from boxwood. He is depicted with a high forehead, thick eyebrows, deep-set eyes, a high bridged nose, a mustache, and a beard. In addition, he has a thick neck and narrow shoulders. A robe covers both shoulders and reveals his chest, and a belt is fastened around the waist as the robe flows elegantly down to his feet. The right hand is held down by his side, while the left hand is placed in front of his abdomen.
