Vessel

CHINA, Tibet

This Tibetan ritual vessel is made of silver, and has a stemmed foot and inverted conical body with broad shoulders. There is a spout on one side of the body and a handle on the other. The neck is short but opens out into a high and wide rim. The lid is in the form of a small inverted bowl with a lotus design, followed by a round knob supported by a lotus with filigree work on top. The stemmed foot, shoulder, neck, rim, handle, spout, and lid of the vessel are in gold.
