Tower

CHINA; Yuan dynasty

The pagoda has a multi-layer hexagonal base standing on ornate feet. The lower base is surrounded by lotus petals followed by seated Buddhas which alternate with an openwork floral pattern. At the top, each side has an irregular elongated hole, and there are balustrades above the base. Four dragons in openwork look up with open mouths and support the vibrant multi-layer lotus base of the pagoda body. The latter is in the form of an oblate spheroid elaborately decorated. The spire consists of stacked rings followed by a lotus bud.
