Embroidery of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva

According to one of the inscriptions, this embroidery was created by Jin Shufang in 1595.
Avalokitesvara is depicted in a relaxed pose, leaning on a rock. Wearing a tiara with an image of Amitabha Buddha, the hair is styled in long braids which fall down over the shoulders. The figure rests its head on its right hand, while the left hand holds prayer beads, and rests on its knee. A loose robe is tied at the waist and the chest is adorned with a necklace.
Skanda, who is attending the Bodhisattva, wears chainmail and shoulder armor. He stands majestically with a sword held in front of him and looks at Avalokitesvara, who appears to be contemplating the lively dragon in the water. A poem by Sheng Keji in praise of Avalokitesvara is written at the top.
