CHINA; Yuan dynasty

This mantle was made in gold-wefted brocade, in a style also known as Nashishi, meaning gold brocade.
The mantle is 43 cm long, 70 cm wide at the shoulder, and 78.5 cm wide at the chest. The cut resembles a lotus leaf, with the outer layers embroidered with small images of phoenixes and lotus flowers. The border consists of a band in light green.
