Jampa Tashi Rinchen was a Tibetan artist during the 15th century. Together with Bodong Panchen Chokle Namgyal, he served as a sculptor in the Tibetan Ladoi region, which was an important center for casting gilt bronze Buddhist statues.
The artworks of Jampa Tashi Rinchen and his disciples were widely distributed throughout the Lhasa, Lhoka, and U-Tsang areas. According to Biography of the First Dalai Lama, composed by the disciple of the First Dalai Lama, Yeshe Tsemo, when the Dalai Lama went to Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse in search of a craftsman to sculpt a statue of Maitreya Buddha, Jampa Tashi Rinchen was one of the desired candidates.
