Mikyo Dorje

Mikyo Dorje was a Tibetan painter of around the 17th century. Although his biography is largely unknown, he is known to have been an outstanding disciple of Namkha Tashi, the founder of the Karma Gadri school, and was a prominent painter alongside his close colleague Cho Tashi. To denote his respect for his teacher, he had composed a guideline text which served as the theoretical basis for the Karma Gadri school of painting. Because of his contributions, Mikyo Dorje is regarded as an important painter in the development and propagation of the school.
