Qiu Wenbo

CHINA, Sichuan, Deyang; Later Shu Kingdom

Qiu Wenbo was a painter from Hanzhou (present day Guanghan, Deyang). He was skilled in painting natural landscapes, as well as Buddhist figures.
Murals painted by Qiu include the Sixth Patriarch, at Ganming Chan Monastery in Sichuan, Arhats at Chongjiao Chan Monastery in Sichuan, and Twenty-Four Deities at Zijogong Temple, all of which were recorded in Records of Famous Paintings in Yizhou. Other extant works include Literacy Gathering, which is now kept at the National Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan.
