Wang Daoqiu

CHINA; Later Liang dynasty

Wang Daoqiu was a painter who specialized in the depiction of Buddhist images, deities, ghosts, and dragons. He initially copied the works of Zhou Fang, and later modeled his paintings after that of Lu Lengqie.
Overview of Painting noted several works by Wang, including a mural at Xiangguo Temple in Henan, as well as Sixteen Arhats, Zhong Kui Grasping a Ghost, and Disciple within the Forest.
