Shi Daoshuo

CHINA; Eastern Jin dynasty

Shi Daoshuo was a painter who studied under and inherited the skills of Xun Xu and Wei Xie. He was particularly adept in illustrating stories and depicting animals.
According to Xuanhe Catalog of Paintings, his paintings include Eight Steeds, Horses, and Indian Monk, as well as the murals at Longkuan Temple in Hubei and Benji Temple in Zhejiang. Other works are recorded in Famous Paintings in History, Painting Annals of the Zhenguan Period.
