Located on the left side of the illustration of the Amitayurdhyana Sutra on the north wall within the main chamber, this is presented in a sequence of square frames. The Sixteen Contemplations are depicted in individual scenes, which begin on the upper right and descend in an “S” formation. In the lower left corner of each scene, Queen Vaidehi kneels on a square rug with palms joined. The objects of contemplation are shown on the right side, with mountains forming a background in some of the scenes. Queen Vaidehi has a high topknot, a round face, and is dressed in green and red garments. The mural is composed with simple, fluid lines and rich colors. The lower scenes are damaged.
