This garuda is painted in the middle of the central ridge on the barrel-vaulted ceiling of the main chamber. The huge garuda has a human face and the body of a bird. It wears a jeweled crown and has a nimbus. The round eyes of the figure are open wide and it holds two nagas in its beak. Other nagas twirl around the garuda’s nimbus, four of which stick out their long tongues. The two nagas in the garuda’s mouth twist downward and around the garuda’s body and legs.
