The statue was listed as Treasure No. 378 in 1963. The figure consists of numerous geometric shapes, beginning with the Bodhisattva’s oblong topknot. The face is oval and gives way to three lines on the neck, and followed by a linked necklace over the bare torso. Stoles wrap about the arms, while the skirt is secured by a butterfly bow. The material of the skirt is carved with deep folds that follow the contours of the legs. The raised left hand holds a lotus bud while a vase is in the right hand, both attributes that identify the figure as Avalokitesvara. The damaged feet rest on a reversed lotus mounted on an octagonal base with decorated insets.
