Ink and color on silk
This painting is located in the Ultimate Bliss Hall of Bosalsa Temple. The central figure, Amitabha Buddha, has curled hair, a bejeweled usnisa, a round nimbus, and an aureole. Wearing a red monastic robe, the Buddha sits in full lotus position and forms a mudra with the raised right hand.
Amitabha is surrounded by the Eight Great Bodhisattvas, the Ten Great Disciples, Brahma, Sakra, the Four Heavenly Kings, and the Eight Classes of Dharma Protectors. Only the heads of the figures at the top of the painting can be seen, while the Bodhisattvas and Heavenly Kings at the bottom of the image are shown in full.
The painting is primarily colored in red and green, which is characteristic of Korean Buddhist paintings from the 18th century. Complementary colors of white, green, and yellow are used in the details. An inscription states that the picture was painted by four artists including a monk.
