The three statues were originally enshrined in Fayun Temple and depicts Amitabha Buddha, accompanied by the Bodhisattvas Avalokitesvara and Mahasthamaprapta.
The Buddha holds a gem in the left hand, while the right hand is in varada (wish-granting) mudra. He wears a monastic robe that leaves the right shoulder bare but also a necklace with a pendant, which is usually reserved for Bodhisattvas. The two Bodhisattvas are similarly jeweled and wear an ornament on their topknot. All three display the folk style of the late Qing dynasty (1644–1911) and also established the 1960s style in Taiwan.
