Although the main statue is of uncertain date, it can be assigned to the middle of the Joseon dynasty (1392–1910). Amitabha sits in full lotus position with right hand raised and left hand lowered, both forming a mudra. His face is broad and regal, but the monastic robes are simply fashioned. Jeweled attendants are on either side wearing magnificent headdresses. A seated Buddha fronts Avalokitesvara’s headdress and the Bodhisattva holds up a vase in the left hand. Mahasthamaprapta, located on the left side, holds a jewel in the right hand. Stoles fall from the Bodhisattvas’ shoulders to the base of the lotus pedestals on which they stand. The statues were added at a later period to make a triad.
