Lin Chi-Feng

CHINA, Fujian, Fuzhou

Lin Chi-Feng was a sculptor of the Fuzhou school. The Buddhist sculptures he created were proportionate with dignified appearances that were enhanced by his use of the chalk-powder lining technique to decorate and evoke a natural charm.
Among his sculptures, many have made their way to Taiwan, including Sakyamuni Buddha Triad, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, Sixteen Arhats, and more at Lingquan Temple in Yuemeishan; Three Buddhas and more at Quanhua Hall in Miaoli; and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Sudhana, and Naga Girl in the Avalokitesvara Hall of Chaotian Temple in Beigang, Yunlin. In addition, his statues of the Eighteen Arhats at Longshan Temple in Changhua further exhibit his superior sculpting techniques.
