The Buddha stands in a serene manner and is dressed in a monastic robe that covers both shoulders. The right hand is raised sideways in a version of the abhaya (fearlessness) mudra. The roughly folded material of the robe aligns with the body and shows, in particular, how the right knee bends. The primary focus of attention is the combined nimbus and aureole. Two inner rims are outlined with leafy patterns while the outer rim is decorated with a series of connected sun-burst patterns. The sun-bursts consist of a medallion at the base of a cone on which is mounted a triratna symbol. This pattern may be unique to bronze statues from the region.
