Letsen Sonam Rinchen

Letsen Sonam Rinchen was a Tibetan artist born into a family of painters. At the age of eighteen, he worked as a painter of murals and thangkas at Xueduibai Traditional Manual Art Center. He was eventually responsible for the painting of murals in the shrine where the Stupa of the Thirteenth Dalai Lama stands in the Potala Palace. Due to his excellent performance, he was promoted through various official positions. In 1955, Letsen Sonam Rinchen and Paljor Gyalpo worked together as the designers and supervisors of the murals in the Takten Migyur Palace at Norbulingka Palace. Among his many disciples was the outstanding artist, Rigdzin Peljor.
